Barcelona-based operator Flightline BCN has confirmed that a Fairchild Metroliner which crashed in Cork this morning was one of its aircraft.
A Flightline BCN official says she is waiting for details from Cork Airport on the identity of the aircraft, but confirms that it belongs to Flightline BCN.
The aircraft, which was carrying 10 passengers and two crew members, crashed in Cork at around 10:00 following two go-arounds.
Weather reports for the area confirm fog and poor visibility at the time of the crash.
The aircraft was being operated on behalf of Manx2 and had originated in Belfast.
Reports suggest that three people have been killed in the crash. An Irish Aviation Authority spokesman was unable to confirm whether there had been any fatalities.
