Mexican airport operator Grupo Aeroportuario del Centro Norte (OMA) has reported a 7.8% growth in passenger traffic across its 13 airports to 1.05 million passengers in December.

Domestic traffic rose 9.9% to 872,051, while international traffic was down 1.4% to 181,104, said OMA.

Domestic traffic grew in 12 of the 13 airports, with the airports in Reynosa, Tampico and Torreon reporting the most significant increases. Mazatlan airport recorded a decline in traffic due to lower passenger traffic on the La Paz and Monterrey routes.

Zacatecas airport reported the most significant growth in international traffic, with a 183% jump, due to more passengers on flights to San Antonio and Chicago and a new route to Panama City, said OMA.
