Minneapolis/St Paul airport has delayed its $853 million expansion plan at least until 2008, citing the bankruptcy of Northwest Airlines as the primary reason. The first phase is scheduled to add 12 new gates to the Humphrey terminal as part of a plan to reserve the Lindbergh terminal for Northwest and its SkyTeam alliance partners.
