Mitsubishi Aircraft hopes to firm up US regional carrier SkyWest's 100-aircraft order by the end of the year.
The airframer's director of marketing Yugo Fukuhara tells Flightglobal that Mitsubishi and SkyWest are still finalising the paperwork for the order.
"We hope that it will be done by the end of the year," he says at the sidelines of the Boyd Group International Aviation Forecast Summit in Dallas.
The agreement in principle for 100 MRJ90s was first announced at the Farnborough air show on 11 July.
Mitsubishi had said then that the order should be firmed up within weeks, but this has yet to happen. SkyWest said last month that the work to firm up the agreement is continuing as expected.
Deliveries of SkyWest's MRJs will begin in 2017, running through 2020. SkyWest also has the option as part of the agreement to convert the MRJ90s to the smaller MRJ70.
