Mitsubishi Aircraft is not yet willing to confirm when Trans State Holdings and SkyWest Airlines will receive their MRJ regional jets, after delaying first flight by 15 months in August.

Launch customer ANA is to get its first MRJ in 2017, but – speaking at the European Regions Airline Association's 2013 general assembly in Salzburg, Austria – Mitsubishi Aircraft head of sales Yugo Fukuhara gave no hint on revised delivery dates for the programme's other two customers.

“We are discussing new delivery schedules with customers," says Fukuhara. "We believe existing customers will support the programme.”

When US-based SkyWest ordered 100 MRJ90s, taking an additional 100 options, in 2012, it said that availability of the MRJ regional jet in 2017 was a reason it chose the aircraft.

Mitsubishi has an order backlog for 165 MRJ90s, plus 160 options.
