The proposed Mitsubishi Regional Jet will set new standards in the regional aircraft market, says Mitsubishi Heavy Industries. New "slim" seats, as seen at a cabin mock-up in Paris, will result in considerably more leg room for passengers, and the aircraft will burn 20% less fuel and emit less noise than its competitors, it adds. MHI, which plans to offer the aircraft in 70- to 80-seat and 86- to 96-seat configurations, expects to make a decision by the end of March.
