UK-based cargo carrier MK Airlines has bought a second ex-Kitty Hawk International McDonnell Douglas DC-8-63 freighter from UK aircraft marketing and asset management specialist Focus Aviation.

MK Airlines, which suffered the loss of a Boeing 747-200 freighter during a landing accident at Port Harcourt in Nigeria towards the end of November, acquired a DC-8 from Focus last month.

The latest addition is the tenth former Kitty Hawk DC-8 sold by Focus in the past 14 months. Customers for the aircraft have included Memphis-based Universal Asset Management.

Focus says the sales make it “optimistic” that it can also dispose of another two DC-8-62s which the company is currently marketing.
