Mokulele Airlines has reached an interline ticketing agreement with Australian Oneworld alliance member Qantas.
Effective immediately, passengers arriving and departing Qantas' Honolulu gateway will be able to use one-stop ticketing, check-in and baggage check when travelling to Mokulele's interisland destinations Kahului, Kona, Hilo, Lihue and Hoolehua.
Earlier this year the chief executive of Mokulele's partner Republic Airways Holdings (RAH) Bryan Bedford said that a number of Mokulele relationships "are coming online" with both US mainline and Asia Pacific carriers, indicating the agreements would be in the form of interline, frequent flyer and codeshare agreements.
Republic began operating Embraer E-170s on behalf of Mokulele in late 2008 in Hawaiian interisland markets. In March it converted an existing loan to Mokulele into a 50% in the carrier.
Mokulele also reached a deal last year with Canadian low-cost carrier WestJet for cross-promotion on each airline's respective web site, allowing WestJet to broaden its presence in Hawaii. Also under the arrangement, WestJet division WestJet Vacations sells sightseeing air tours on Kona-based Mokulele.
