UK-based travel firm Monarch Group has named former Virgin Atlantic executive Conrad Clifford as its new chief.
The group has been undergoing a corporate restructuring to consolidate its activities and had opted to appoint a group chief to oversee the company.
Clifford has, most recently, been with Middle Eastern carrier Emirates as vice-president for UK and Ireland.
He was also formerly the chief executive of Virgin Nigeria, the African airline created by Virgin Atlantic, as well as commercial director for the larger carrier.
Monarch Group's operations include holiday carrier Monarch Airlines, which has a fleet of 30 aircraft, and the maintenance division Monarch Aircraft Engineering.
