UK leisure group carrier Monarch Airlines has leased a new Airbus A321 from operating lessor Aviation Capital Group.

The aircraft is the first of a three-aircraft leasing agreement.

The transaction follows the US lessor’s placement of two new A321s in May 2013.

Monarch is to lease another A321 later this year from ACG, Flightglobal’s Ascend Online database shows

Since the beginning of March, the carrier has added two new A320s from CIT Leasing. Last year, it agreed to lease two Airbus A321s from Air Lease. Deliveries are set for April and May 2015.

Monarch recently agreed to lease two used A320s from ILFC. The 2008-vintage aircraft were previously operated by Royal Jordanian Airlines.

The UK carrier is also taking an A321 previously operated by TACA International Airlines, on lease from SMBC Aviation Capital.
