Lockheed Martin has completed windtunnel testing of a morphing unmanned air-vehicle design, demonstrating wing shape-changing at simulated speeds of Mach 0.3-0.9 and altitudes of 15,000-50,000ft (4,600-15,200m).

Tests of the full-scale half model were conducted in NASA Langley’s transonic dynamics tunnel under Phase 2 of the US Defence Advanced Research Projects Agency’s Morphing Aircraft Structures programme.
