Lufthansa Technik and CFM International have signed a cooperation agreement for the support of CFM56 engines.

The pair will jointly develop component repairs, overhaul technology and other technical support for their respective maintenance, repair and overhaul operations. CFM will supply OEM replacement parts, component repairs, and repair technology to Lufthansa Technik.

Jean-Paul Ebanga, president and CEO of CFM, says: "We look forward to working closely with one of the most experienced and respected maintenance providers in the world to develop repair technologies, while delivering genuine CFM materials to Lufthansa Technik and its customers."

Lufthansa Technik chief executive HR, engine and VIP Services Johannes Bussmann, adds: "We look forward to increasing our use of CFM materials and technology and working jointly with CFM to reduce our airlines' engine maintenance costs."
