US military charter specialist Global Aviation Holdings has extended its component support contracts with Lufthansa Technik (LHT) for its cargo subsidiary, World Airways, and passenger branch, North American Airlines.
Global signed a component maintenance agreement for World Airways, covering around 800 part numbers on up to nine Boeing MD-11 freighters.
This is an extension of a previous component support contract for three Boeing 747-400 freighters.
For World Airways, Global inked a full-support package for components on five 767-300ERs, comprising around 1,100 part numbers.
Both new contracts cover a period of five years.
The German maintenance company will provide the service at Tampa International Airport, where World Airways and North American Airlines are based, as well as their station at Leipzig/Halle Airport in Germany.
However, the two deals also include worldwide logistics agreements.
Global Aviation Holdings is currently engaged in restructuring after filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on 5 February 2012.
