Myanma began flights on its first new Embraer 190 from Yangon to Mandalay on 14 January.

The aircraft is one of two leased from GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS) in September 2012. The two are registered XY-AGP and XY-AGQ, according to Flightglobal's Ascend Online database.

The E190 will be used to modernise Myanma's fleet, says GECAS. They have two General Electric CF34 engines each.

Myanma also has one ATR 42, three ATR 72s, three Xian MA60s, three Fokker F28-4000s and two Beechcraft 1900Ds in its fleet, according to Ascend.
