Myanmar Airways International (MAI) took delivery of its first leased aircraft yesterday from International Lease Finance.
The lessor delivered an Airbus A320-200 aircraft to the carrier, which operates four A320s and a single A321.
The Burmese government, which used to own a majority of MAI, now holds the remaining 20% stake in the carrier.
The airline was privatised in April 2010 after it went through a management change. It is now majority-owned by Royal Myanmar Transport, a company formed by three banks to operate the airline.
