Domestic and cargo operations are to resume at Nairobi's Jomo Kenyatta International later today after a fire ripped through the airport's international arrivals hall.
Kenya Airways says it will operate a limited service to Mombasa from the airport's domestic terminal, with the first to depart at 19:00 local time (16:00 UTC).
Flight KQ113 from Paris Charles De Gaulle airport will be diverted to Mombasa with an estimated arrival time of 23.45. Later flights from London and from Bangkok will arrive in Nairobi on Thursday morning as scheduled, and will be processed through the domestic terminal, the airline says.
The Kenya Airports Authority says Nairobi's cargo terminal will be made available for cargo and domestic flights, which are expected to resume this afternoon.
It also confirmed there were no casualties and that the fire had been contained.
Jane Waikenda, director of immigration services in Nairobi, tweeted: "All passengers who have been cleared to land have been processed through immigration without any hitch."
Michael Kamau, cabinet secretary for transport, says the domestic terminal is being prepared to handle international flights from tomorrow.
Qatar Airways cancelled flight QR533 from Doha to Nairobi and diverted QR535 to Kilimanjaro International airport.
The fire which brought operations to a standstill started at 04:35, Kenya Airports Authority tweeted.
