Boeing has selected New Breed Logistics to provide logistics support for the manufacture and final assembly of the 787 in Charleston, South Carolina.

Under the agreement, New Breed will receive, store, package, distribute, kit, provide inventory control, and transport 787 parts, tools, and supplies to selected locations in the manufacturer's North Charleston assembly centre.

The staffing plans for the facility will be finalised over the next few months, says New Breed.

Boeing plans to open its new North Charleston 787 final assembly and delivery site in July of this year.
