Russian regional carriers KrasAvia Airlines and Angara Airlines have launched new routes from the Novosibirsk airport in Siberia following a new state subsidiary programme designed to develop regional flights.

KrasAvia has launched flights from Novosibirsk to Gorno Altaisk airport in February using L410 turboprop equipment. Angara Airlines meanwhile has begun flights to Bratsk from Novosibirsk deploying Antonov An-148s on the route.

Expansion at Novosibirsk airport has seen 13 new scheduled destinations added in 2013. Alongside new routes to Shymkent, Qurghonteppa, Palma de Mallorca and Samara, this included nine new regional links under the subsidised route development initiative.
