Nigerian Eagle Airlines and Delta Air Lines have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to pursue commercial co-operation, including codeshares.

Subject to government approval, Nigerian Eagle will codeshare on Delta's thrice-weekly service between Abuja and New York JFK via Dakar. The service is operated by a Boeing 757-200 with 16 business-class and 158 economy seats.

Delta also operates a daily Lagos-Atlanta service with a Boeing 777-200ER, but this is not covered by the agreement.

Following the MoU, the carriers will also consider whether to allow each other's customers to benefit from their frequent-flyer programmes.
