Nippon Cargo Airlines has sold a Boeing 747-8F aircraft to a consortium of Japanese financiers and leased it back, Flightglobal's Ascend Online data shows.
The syndicate includes Century Tokyo Leasing, Fuyo General Lease and International Bank of Japan Leasing.
The 2011-vintage aircraft (MSN 36138) is equipped with GEnx 2B-67 engines. It was delivered new to Nippon Cargo Airlines in July 2012.
The transaction follows a sale and leaseback deal with Mitsubishi UFJ Lease & Finance in January for a 747-8F aircraft, which was delivered new in December 2012.
The aircraft (MSN 36137) is the second unit of a 13-aircraft order. According to Ascend, Nippon Cargo Airlines will take delivery of three more 747-8Fs in May, June and September. The cargo operator will then add four 747-8Fs in 2014 and another four in 2015.
