Thailand's Nok Air plans to launch a Bangkok-Chiang Rai service on 28 December.

The low-cost carrier will use a Boeing 737-400 aircraft for the twice daily service, said Nok Air.

Schedules in Innovata shows that Nok Air will compete with Thai Airways, Thai AirAsia and Orient Thai Airlines on the route.

Nok Air is operating termorarily from Bangkok's main airport, Suvarnabhumi, after flooding closed its main base at Don Mueang airport.
