Norwegian passenger traffic up 29% in July

Rapidly expanding low-cost carrier Norwegian increased passenger traffic, as measured in RPK, 29% in July over the same month the previous year.

The carrier lifted capacity, as measured in ASKs, rose by 30%. Load factor slipped nearly a percentage point to 85.9%. The high increase in RPKs also reflects the carrier's recent launch of long-haul flights.

Norwegian carried 2.13 million passengers in July, an increase of 17% over the same month last year.
