Norwegian will request US Export-Import Bank funding at the first board meeting to be held following the 16-day government shutdown.
The low-cost carrier will request financing guarantees for Boeing aircraft on 24 October, says Ex-Im.
No further details were provided.
Norwegian has already secured Ex-Im financing on some of its 737-800 deliveries through 2015. It received one 737-800 in September, two in November and two in December according to Flightglobal’s Ascend Online database. Next year, the Norwegian carrier will receive 11 737-800s followed by six in 2015.
The carrier previously indicated that aircraft funded by Ex-Im will not be put into its new Irish leasing entity, September Aviation Assets.
