Oman Air has witnessed a 28% year-on-year increase in passenger revenue for the first five months of 2012.

Passenger numbers grew by 19% during the five months to May 31, while cargo revenue increased by 47% and cargo tonnage increased by 33%.

The airline says it anticipates further growth with the upcoming delivery of two new Embraer 175 regional jets in the third and fourth quarters of 2012.

It has also placed orders for six Boeing 737-800s - all due to arrive in 2014/15 - and will start taking delivery of six Boeing 787 Dreamliners in 2015.
