Oman Air has selected Rockwell Collins for 12 Boeing 737 aircraft being acquired by the Middle Eastern flag-carrier.

The agreement covers six new aircraft purchased directly from Boeing, and six others leased.

Oman Air is also intending to retrofit nine of its current 737s with datalink equipment from Rockwell Collins.

Boeing's records show that Oman Air ordered six 737-800s in May last year.

Oman Air's agreement with Rockwell includes the manufacturer's MultiScan weather hazard radar, VHF datalink Mode 2 communications systems, collision-avoidance equipment and various sensors.
