Orient Thai plans to start services to South Korea in December with a new route between Bangkok and Seoul's Incheon Airport.
It will operate a Boeing 747-300 on the route, says an airline spokesman. The carrier will likely operate four weekly flights on the route, and that could subsequently be increased to a daily service.
The service comes at a time when the number of South Koreans travelling overseas, especially around Asia has been gradually increasing, adds the spokesman.
The Bangkok-Seoul Incheon route is served by Thai Airways with 28 weekly flights, Asiana Airlines with 12 weekly flights, Korean Air with 14 weekly services and its low-cost subsidiary Jin Air with seven weekly services, according to schedules in Innovata.
