Oslo Gardermoen Airport is to embark on a NKr690 million ($122 million) project to improve its infrastructure and taxiway system.

Under the contract, which is due to start next month and be completed by October 2013, several new taxiways will be constructed.

Extensive drainage systems, plus concrete tanks for the collection of contaminated water, will also be built by contractor Skanska for Oslo Lufthavn, a subsidiary of the airport's owner Avinor.
