Panasonic Avionics and SAS finalise in-flight Internet and connectivity deal

Panasonic Avionics has finalised an agreement with Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) to install its eXConnect and eXPhone solutions on the airline's fleet of domestic, pan-European and intercontinental aircraft.

SAS is planning to introduce the service at the end of this year.

The airline will use the product to provide in-flight broadband Internet access over WiFi to passengers.

Panasonic's eXPhone product will allow SAS passengers to use their mobile phones, smart phones and BlackBerry devices onboard to make and receive voice calls, send and receive text messages and e-mails and access the Internet
