is studying development of a freighter version of the A330-300 after receiving
interest from potential operators of such an aircraft.
freighter variant of the twin-jet would complement the airframer’s new A330-200F, which has so far
attracted commitments for 40 aircraft.
to ATI during the Paris Air Show
today, Airbus chief operating officer for customers John Leahy said that
operators had expressed interest in a possible A330-300F and added: “It’s
something we are studying.”
says Airbus would have to examine whether it could commit enough resources to
produce the new-build aircraft, but adds that – if it goes ahead – the
A330-300F could enter service around 2010-11.
is also developing a cargo conversion programme for its A320 line.
