Airbus has created an IMAX-style cinema on its stand inside the shell of an A350.
The 20m (66ft)-long nose and fuselage from the passenger floor up was created through an output from the A350's digital mock-up, says XWB marketing analyst David Forrester. "The nose is exactly how it will look on the real aircraft."
Inside the mock-up is a cinema with seating for around 14 people to watch a 9min-long film that runs through the characteristics and benefits of the A350, he says. "It's an IMAX-style experience with surround sound."
Airbus is offering reservations for a viewing primarily to airlines and other VIP delegations. However, other visitors might be able to squeeze in for a showing at the end of the day, if they are lucky, says Forrester.
