Alenia Aeronautica will remain a supplier to Boeing's 787 programme, the company has announced.
It had previously been criticised for its performance with the production of the 787-8's horizontal stabiliser.
However, the Seattle-based airframer now believes Alenia has fixed the issues, said Alenia chief executive Giuseppe Giordo.
As a result, Boeing has now signed an agreement with Alenia that sees the Italian company remaining a single-source supplier for the 787-8's horizontal stabiliser.
It will also produce "not less than 50%" of the horizontal stabilisers for the -9 variant. It will also be a single-source supplier for any -10 or other future variant, and will participate in future Boeing civil programmes, said Giordo.
