Chinese airframer Comac has established a European office in Paris as it has been preparing for its biggest presence ever at an international air show.
The new office, Comac's second overseas site after the first in Los Angeles, will strengthen and expand co-operation with its partners in Europe, it said.
Comac president Jin Zhuanglong said: "We have many Western suppliers on our C919 narrowbody, and our Europe office will help us strengthen our work together."
The Chinese aircraft corporation plans to sign a number of joint venture agreements and co-operation deals at the show. It will formalise joint ventures with CFM International and Labinal, suppliers to the C919 programme, and sign a memorandum of understanding with Ryanair to work together.
The airframer, which has traditionally kept a low profile at air shows outside China, will show its C919 cabin mock-up for the first time at an international trade show. "The Paris air show is important to us, and this signals our commitment to it," said Jin.
Comac is also developing the ARJ21 regional jet, which it aims to deliver by the end of the year to Chengdu Airlines. First delivery is on track, said Jin.
