UK-based GKN Aerospace is to open a new engineering centre in Bengaluru.
Work at the centre, scheduled to begin in August, will span engineering design, analysis and production to support GKN's international aerospace projects.
Initial activities at the Indian facility will support GKN's engine systems operation. Longer term, the scope will expand to include development of engine and airframe structures.
GKN will transfer existing Bengaluru staff to the new facility in the first year of operation. The plan is to grow centre staff to more than 100 over 18 months.
