International Lease Finance (ILFC) says it is in talks with airline customers for the placement of 25 Airbus A320neo family aircraft, according to its president Henri Courpon.
The US-based operating lessor, which placed an additional order for 50 A320neo family aircraft at the Paris air show today , now has a total backlog for 150 aircraft.
"Deliveries are between 2015 and 2021 and we have already been successful at placing our first aircraft with Spirit Airlines," Courpon says.
He says the placements also will include airlines in Europe and China.
"We are very deliberate in our Neo approach. The great value of this product is the fact that we are the launch customer," he says.
Courpon adds ILFC may also acquire Neo aircraft under purchase and leaseback transactions in the future.
"We are certainly looking at acquiring aircraft this way to balance our portfolio," he says.
