Russian engine manufacturer Perm Motors has concluded agreements covering the supply of 109 turbofans to power Tupolev Tu-204SM twin-jets.
Under the contract with Tupolev, the plant is to deliver four Soloviev PS-90A2 engines for a pair of pre-production test aircraft in the second and third quarters of this year.
The letter of intent with leasing company Ilyushin Finance envisages the supply of 105 engines to equip serially-produced aircraft with delivery due to start in 2012.
Perm Motors says it built two dozen PS-90A engines last year and is planning to build an equal number this year.
The Tu-204SM is scheduled to receive certification before 2012.
A tentative production programme for the type suggests constructing 44 aircraft and hinges on a still-to-be-confirmed order by launch customer Red Wings.
