Russian prosecutors are investigating how a person was injured by an Antonov An-24's spinning propeller at Krasnoyarsk.

The accident occurred at 09:05 local time on 19 July, says the West Siberian transport prosecutor's office, at the city's Cheremshanka airport.

It adds that the aircraft, operated by Russian carrier Katekavia, had been preparing for a domestic flight to Kodinsk to the north-east.

Preliminary information, says the office, indicates that, despite a warning, the person did not move away from the aircraft as the engine was started.

"The victim was taken to hospital," it adds, without elaborating on the individual's condition. Prosecutors will examine the circumstances of the accident, it says, and check compliance with Russian aviation safety regulations.

There were four crew members on board the aircraft at the time, but no passengers. Cheremshanka is a secondary airport for Krasnoyarsk.
