Philippine Airlines (PAL) is in the market with a request for proposals (RFP) covering a total of 15 Airbus aircraft that are scheduled for delivery in 2013 and 2014.
The Philippine carrier has approached financiers for export credit agency support as well as commercial debt proposals, according to one banking source.
The RFP covers seven Airbus A321s. The first two aircraft are scheduled for delivery in October and November this year, according to Flightglobal's Ascend Online database. The remaining five units are due next year.
PAL exercised options to buy 10 A330-300s aircraft last September, with deliveries planned in 2013-2014.
According to Ascend, two aircraft will deliver in August and September while another two are scheduled for December. Another four units will deliver in the first six months of next year.
