Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has released three tenders seeking to wet-lease four narrowbody aircraft, and dry leases on four turboprops and 10 narrowbodies.
Under the wet-lease tender, PIA is seeking up to four narrowbodies with 140 seats for a period of one month that may be extended. Documents show that it would guarantee a minimum of 275 block hours per month from a base at Karachi.
In addition, the airline is seeking to dry-lease up to four turboprops of more than 48 seats, manufactured in 2004 or later on a lease period of six years. The aircraft would need to be delivered no later than 31 December 2014.
Bids on both of those tenders are due at PIA’s Karachi head office by 15:00 local time on 5 June.
In addition, the dry-lease narrowbody tender seeks up to 10 aircraft with a minimum of 175 seats, built in 2010 or later, for a period of eight years. Deliveries of at least four aircraft would have to take place no later than 15 June 2014, with the remaining aircraft due by 14 August, 2014.
Bids for that tender are due by 15:00 local time on 26 May.
Flightglobal’s Ascend Online database shows that PIA has a fleet of 28 aircraft in service with an average age of 16 years.
