Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has approached the leasing market with a tender for the lease of one widebody aircraft.
According to the terms of the tender, the widebody aircraft will need to have a 450 passenger capacity or more. It will be leased for a period up to two years and PIA is seeking offers that include a purchase option at the end of either the first or second year.
PIA's widebody fleet includes six 747-200/300s, seven 777-200s, two 777-300s and 12 Airbus A310s, according to Flightglobal's Ascend Online database. In February, the carrier placed an order for five 777-300ERs in a deal that includes purchase rights for a further five of the General Electric GE90-115BL-powered type. Deliveries are scheduled for 2015.
Bids have to be submitted by 6 September.
