Offers from operating lessors AWAS and GECAS are the lowest evaluated bids on Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) request for proposals for used Airbus A320s, according to the carrier.
The carrier issued a tender in May seeking proposals for up to eight aircraft, manufactured in 2004 or later, with six-year lease terms. Aircraft are expected to be delivered during the first quarter of 2014.
PIA, also accepted bids from AerCap, CIT Aerospace International and ILFC but rejected proposals from Aviation Capital Group for two Boeing 737 NG aircraft and Chinese lessor China Aircraft Leasing (CALC) for a six-aircraft CFM-powered package.
The carrier also said that five aircraft offered by ILFC were withdrawn from the offer or did not meet tender requirements.
