Reunion-based Air Austral has taken delivery of the first of two Next Generation Boeing 737-800s it ordered in December 2009.
The aircraft are replacing one classic 737-300 and a 737-500.
Boeing says the delivery ceremony was attended by carrier chief executive Gerard Etheve.
