HERON
SWOOPS
Named after the notoriously greedy wading bird, IAI-Malat’s Heron UAV looks as if it’s just gulped down a very big dinner.
In fact the underfuselage bulge houses a powerful maritime patrol radar capable of spotting a submarine periscope over 40km away. The other lumps and bumps include the electro-optical turret beneath the nose and the red underwing antennas for the onboard electronic intelligence system.
See how the IAI-Malat Heron UAV works.
