AgustaWestland has delivered a GrandNew helicopter with an emergency medical services (EMS) configuration to Japan's Kagoshima prefecture.

This is the first GrandNew helicopter to be delivered to Japan, said AgustaWestland. It can accommodate two litters in addition to medical attendants.

The twin-engine helicopter will operate under the Doctor Heli programme, which provides EMS coverage throughout Japan.

The GrandNew is a 7 tonne helicopter powered by two Pratt & Whitney PWC207C engines.
