Pilots at Antiguan carrier Liat are continuing a sick-out that began on 6 December following the termination of the head of the pilot union.

Liat in a formal statement issued earlier this week confirmed that it had "terminated its employment relationship" with Leeward Islands Airline Pilots Association Chairman Captain Michael Blackburn.

Today in a statement Liat said the sick-out continues.

It is the second sick-out that Liat pilots have undertaken in two years. Labour relations at the carrier have been strained for much of that time.

In June of this year Liat chairman Jean Holder resigned.
