Pinnacle posts 7% dip in December traffic

US regional operator Pinnacle Airlines has posted a 6.9% decline in passenger traffic in December across its three subsidiaries.

Capacity declined 6.7%, driving down the load factor by 0.1 percentage point to 72.5%.

Passenger numbers in the month decreased 1.1% to 1.49 million passengers.

On a full-year basis, Pinnacle grew its traffic by 24.9%.

Capacity rose 22.8%, resulting in the load factor growing 1.3 percentage point to 74.8%. Passenger numbers rose 22% to 20 million passengers.

Pinnacle is the holding company of Pinnacle Airlines, Mesaba Aviation and Colgan Air.
