Delta Connection carrier Pinnacle Airlines has won clearance from the US DOT to operate flights from Atlanta to Belize.
In its original request to the department Pinnacle explained it would fly 76-seat Bombardier CRJ900s on the route, with the aim of launching service on 1 March. The carrier also pointed out the service would be year-round up to four times per week to supplement Delta's mainline flights on the route.
Pinnacle's exemption allowing service on the route expires on 24 December 2010. Schedules in Innovata show Delta currently operates Boeing MD-88s on two weekly flights between Atlanta and Belize.
