Uruguay's Pluna has slightly accelerated the delivery of the three Bombardier CRJ900s it ordered earlier this year.
Pluna says in a statement today that its next two CRJ900s will be now delivered in September and a third CRJ900 is now slated to arrive in November. The carrier, which placed the new three-aircraft order in April, initially expected deliveries in October, November and December.
Pluna says the new delivery schedule was negotiated with Bombardier. It says opportunities to expand in the Argentina and Brazil markets prompted the carrier to seek an acceleration of its expansion programme.
The Montevideo-based carrier currently has seven CRJ900s, including one aircraft that is leased to Argentinean sister carrier AeroVIP. As part of the order placed in April, Pluna also now has options for four additional CRJ900s for delivery next year.
Pluna also has been looking at accelerating expansion by adding used CRJ200s to its fleet.
