Pre-flight hijack as Alitalia domestic flight cancelled after crew bus held up by carjackers, injuring two flight attendants

Passengers waiting for this morning's Alitalia shuttle between Naples international airport and the airline's Milan Linate hub were left puzzled and annoyed after hearing the latest reason to cancel a flight; the crew bus had been held-up by modern day highwaymen.

Flight AZ 1278 was scheduled to leave the airport in Capodichino at 06:30, arriving into Linate at 07:50.  However, Italian newspaper La Repubblica reports on its website that the bus was hijacked and the crew demanded money with menaces.

However, the car jackers had to make do with a Rolex watch and little under €150 ($190) in cash from the domestic flight crew. Two flight attendants were injured, the report goes on.
