Qantas Airways' group passenger traffic for July, as measured in RPKs, declined 0.6% year on year, while its passenger numbers rose by 1.9% to 4.21 million, compared with the same period last year.
The group's overall passenger capacity, as measured in ASKs, decreased by 0.4%, while its load factor fell by 0.2 percentage points to 79.8%.
Qantas' domestic RPKs, excluding QantasLink, went down by 2.7% year on year and its passenger numbers also dropped by 1.8% to 1.45 million. Its ASKs went down by 3%, while its load factor grew by 0.2 percentage points to 78%.
QantasLink's RPKs grew by 5.7% year on year in July, while passenger numbers rose by 4.3% to 461,000. Its ASKs increased by 12%, while its load factor decreased by 3.7 percentage points to 64.4%.
Qantas International's RPKs rose by 1.1% year on year and passenger numbers went up 5.2% to 516,000. Passenger capacity grew by 0.9% and its load factor increased by 0.2 percentage points to 82.9%.
Jetstar, its low-cost subsidiary, posted a 5.4% rise in its domestic RPKs, while passenger numbers climbed by 6.1% to 1.04 million. The carrier's passenger capacity grew by 2.6%, while its load factor inched up by 2.2 percentage points to 83.1%.
Jetstar International posted a 7.7% decline in passenger traffic for July and a 4% drop in passenger numbers to 422,000. The carrier's ASKs fell by 5.3% and its load factor decreased by 1.9 percentage points to 75.6%.
Singapore-based Jetstar Asia posted a 5.5% fall in passenger traffic, while its passenger numbers rose by 6.5% to 314,000. The airline's ASKs decreased by 1.4%, while its load factor slumped by 3.4 percentage points to 77.8%.
