Qantas Airways group's passenger traffic in November as measured in RPKs grew by 1.3% and its passenger numbers rose by 6.4% to 4.12 million, compared with the same period in 2011.
The group's overall passenger capacity, as measured in ASKs, increased by 0.7%. Its load factor rose by 0.5 percentage points to 80%, compared with November last year.
Qantas's domestic RPKs, excluding QantasLink, grew by 0.5% year on year, while passenger numbers rose by 1.2% to 1.49 million. The carrier's ASKs increased by 3.1%, while its load factor decreased by 2.1 percentage points to 79.9%.
QantasLink's RPKs grew by 0.3% year on year in November, while passenger numbers rose by 3.4% to 464,000. Its ASKs increased by 3.9%, while its load factor declined by 2.4 percentage points to 67.8%.
Qantas International's RPKs fell by 4.3% year on year and passenger numbers decreased by 3.1% to 472,000. Passenger capacity, as measured in ASKs, declined by 7.1%, while load factor increased by 2.4 percentage points to 81.3%.
Jetstar, its low-cost subsidiary, posted a 15.1% rise in its domestic RPKs, while passenger numbers climbed by 14.9% to 971,000. The carrier's domestic passenger capacity grew by 18.2%, while its load factor fell by 2.3 percentage points to 85.4%.
Jetstar International posted 15.8% growth in passenger traffic as measured in RPKs for November and a 17.1% increase in passenger numbers to 425,000. The low-cost carrier's ASKs grew by 10.5% and its load factor rose by 3.5 percentage points to 76.6%.
Singapore-based Jetstar Asia posted a 6.6% decline in passenger traffic, while its passenger numbers rose by 16.8% to 297,000. The airline's ASKs decreased by 2.1% and its load factor fell by 3.6 percentage points to 75.6%.
